The Abandonment of God

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us.
Isaiah 61 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

61The Spirit of Adonai Elohim is upon me, because Adonai has anointed me
to announce good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim freedom to the captives,
to let out into light those bound in the dark;
2 to proclaim the year of the favor of Adonai and the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn,
3 yes, provide for those in Tziyon who mourn, giving them garlands instead of ash-es,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit,
so that they will be called oaks of righteousness planted by Adonai, in which he takes pride.

Last year, 2019, in my thoughts and prayers and for what had seemed an age, three years, at least, I sensed that a change would come upon my working life, not at least be-cause I wanted it so desperately, but because it had to happen. Three months ago, I re- entered the care sector – looking after people with dementia and associated problems of age related infirmity. Nursing others with such combined issues brings its challenges. In truth my first experiences, years ago, though incredibly rewarding, were fraught with company business problems and the sustainability of financing the necessary care that is needed to provide necessary levels of holistic care.
I entered the sector, wanting to bring art and music therapy into care homes. God had an-other plan for me. I was given a full-time job in a beautiful home with around one hun-dred residents and really good staff. Six months into the job, my role changed somewhat. I was able to develop my team and because of my art background and the study I had put into dementia and cognitive design , I was asked to redesign the dementia units and also to look at the various aspects of cognitive therapies for group and individual sessions.
Through this exciting time, I learned an incredible amount and was given much grace by the Lord to do my work. I found the favour of man and was appraised by those in charge. The Lord showed me how light influences and heals the body. Was it coincidence that this was during the time of Sukkot – the festival of lights, and in which Abba is referred to as the Father of light?

I love these two passages in Scripture:
John 3:19-21 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
19 “Now this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, but people loved the darkness rather than the light. Why? Because their actions were wicked. 20 For eve-ryone who does evil things hates the light and avoids it, so that his actions won’t be exposed.

21 But everyone who does what is true comes to the light, so that all may see that his actions are accomplished through God.”
John 12: 44Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me. 45 And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.

But most profoundly, this passage is key in understanding the creation of life:
Genesis 1 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Creation
1 In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and dark-ness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the wa-ters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good (pleasing, useful) and He affirmed and sustained it; and God separated the light [distinguishing it] from the darkness. 5 And God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

These passages are of course, familiar to the believer. We have read them so many times that we probably just skirt over them. But these words, are not just letters on a page. They relate to us a divine decision. God consulted with others, the Elohim, about what He wanted to do. God in essence, formed a physical substance and threw it through the veil that separates the spiritual realm of heaven, into a void that exists on the outside of the veil. This the place we inhabit.

Friends, we have to understand that this substance does not exist in God’s realm.
The light that exists in His dimension is a different substance that is magnificent and magnified significantly. Nothing can exist in it. It is the ‘Shekinah – .the majestic super-natural covering of God. It dwelt only in the most holy place, when God chose to show His presence to His chosen on earth.

The substance given to us was good. God looked at what He had done and confirmed His work. The human being was created to exist in this glorious light. It would be His sus-tenance. There would be no need for anything else. The human being would enjoy with God, the world God had created for him. We must realise, that the creation narrative is not only an account, and a very brief one at that, of man dwelling in a new world, hand craft-ed through the wisdom and creativity of God, but is a message to the heavenly witness. God in essence, is laying out a story, an event, that occurred in heaven – the great fall, and emulated it in the physical realm. It is a story of a broken kingdom, being restored. It is the story of a new creation, the Bride of Christ and the unity that will exist between them. This message is emphasised in the covenant between a man and a woman in marriage. Marriage is the physical pattern of the unified kingdom, which is exactly what Yeshua spoke about in His prayer, asking God the Father to unite those given Him and that they would carry the glory of God through a broken world.

This brings me now to the main thrust of my message. As I look around the people I care for on a daily basis, I pray constantly that YHWH would use me for His purpose. I pray for their poor souls, their broken brains and confused minds. I pray and petition God, ‘Oh Fa-ther, don’t let me become like one of these.’ I really do!
I pray every morning for peace and healing as I go through the rooms and as I touch them I place that prayer upon their heads. They do not know this of course, but I have absolute faith and certainty that their spirits do.
I see people locked into other worlds; I see them cleaned and washed liked babies. I see them lucid in moments and confused in others. I need to join with them into the storie’s they tell. It is easy when bringing comfort to such as these, to fall into their perceptions and paranoias. But we have to constantly draw back, and discern what is truth in our world and reality in theirs.
You see, there is such an evil at work. The normal, cognitive world is no longer pertinent in theirs to a greater degree. What we take for granted and how we move naturally for in-stance, has to be assessed. As much as is humanly possible, we allow them to choose, if mental capacity is present, but even with the best will and greatest love, the decisions of the cognitive person are constrained by law and policy. Every single thing must be as-sessed for a person with such an infirmity – how they sit, sleep, eat and drink.

In truth, even a baby is more resilient than one of these. It is such a dreadful condition. In addition to my prayers, I ask God to pour out His grace for those who care for them, and that the management and owners will look to the care they offer and not too much to the annual profit. I believe that if we can offer the care and love YHWH wants us to give, then He will sort out the profit and reward in the end. He promises to make our businesses successful and the work of our hands prosper. However, without a shadow of doubt, we must bring Him in as a partner.

Looking again at the depth of sickness, and infirmity, the imprisonment within the broken mind, the decrepitness of age, I began to think of what YHWH is showing us in the pat-tern.

Yeshua, speaks in Revelation 3:
To the Church in Laodicea
To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the originator of God’s creation.15 I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! 16 So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth! 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have grown wealthy and need nothing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, white garments so that you may be clothed and your shameful nakedness not exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 Those I love, I re-buke and discipline. Therefore be earnest and repent.

Listen to what Paul speaks in Colossians 2:1-5
Absent in Body, Present in Spirit

1 For I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodi-cea, and for all who have not met me face to face, 2 that they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 I say this so that no one will deceive you by smooth rhetoric. 5 For although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I delight to see your or-derly condition and firm faith in Christ. Alive with Christ 6 Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form. 10 And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and au-thority.
11 In Him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of your sinful nature, with the circumcision performed by Christ and not by human hands. 12 And having been bur-ied with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Since I first believed and committed my life to serving our God, these last twenty-four years have gone by so fast. I am constantly aware that age is creeping up. But I pray for me and for you that the God of the resurrection and the life will kindly look upon us all and restore to us the vigour, strength and stamina to finish our task in good health and without any diminished faculty.

I now present an observation, which I feel YHWH is showing to us now. A great imbal-ance has occurred and thus God may have, to a degree, removed himself.

God knows our hearts and works. He knows our love for Him and our desire to please Him.

These passages in the book of Revelation, if you look at them a little closer, give us in-sight into a mystery. The messages given to the churches are addressed to the angels of each church. The churches under their responsibility reflect the nature of the angel.

Revelation 2:2 I know your deeds, your labour, and your perseverance.
v9 I know your affliction and your poverty,
v13 I know where you live,
v19 I know your deeds—your love, your faith, your service, your perseverance—and your latter deeds are greater than your first.
CH 3:3 I know your deeds; you have a reputation for being alive, yet you are dead.
v15 I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! 16 So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!

But what does God say to those , the remnant, who will be with Him throughout the mil-lennial reign?

1 Corinthians 6 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
6 How dare one of you with a complaint against another go to court before pagan judges and not before God’s people? 2 Don’t you know that God’s people are going to judge the universe? If you are going to judge the universe, are you incompetent to judge these minor matters? 3 Don’t you know that we will judge angels, not to men-tion affairs of everyday life? 4 So if you require judgments about matters of everyday life, why do you put them in front of men who have no standing in the Messianic Community? 5 I say, shame on you! Can it be that there isn’t one person among you wise enough to be able to settle a dispute between brothers? 6 Instead, a brother brings a lawsuit against another brother, and that before unbelievers!

We must realise that a great court case is about to take place. Believers will judge angels because righteousness has been imputed to them, and God will finally judge the wicked-ness that broke His kingdom apart.
Matthew 19: 28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.” Berean Study Bible.

The remnant will sit with Messiah Yeshua and rule and judge with Him all that is wicked. There will be a new time of renewal, the dead in Christ shall be revived and those alive will be given new bodies to rule with Him in the millennial reign.

But what about the nature of the charges brought by Yeshua to the church in the book of Revelation? We see that He acknowledges the good things we have done but they are not good enough. Our direction must also be turned and focused upon the Kingdom and not the works of the Kingdom. Messiah Yeshua, embodies and shows us the pattern of the Kingdom of God. The love we show to the world is a reflection of the love and grace God is showing to the heavenly compliment – all of creation in His ultimate restoration plan.

The time has come to look at the imbalance between the pattern of love and the pattern of the Kingdom. This is what is shown in the perfect model of His community, and reunifica-tion of His Kingdom, ruled by a re-stablished royal priesthood under Messiah.

We are about to walk into a new age of the church. The false prophet is rising and the an-ti christ spirit is getting stronger. We speak in our ministry about the urgency to come to-gether as community in the unity of the Holy Spirit. God has given us time to prepare for what its about to come upon the true church. Those who are not His, and deny His power will be turned over to their god and reap the consequences. We must therefore reconsider our roles and purposes perhaps. This is the course of our audit. We must look to see how we are reflecting God’s plan for His Kingdom community and not only His wonderful love.
Could it be that until we do this, God may decide to stay a little further from us and not abandon us completely? When we return to God, and restore His word and make it then the basis of our community , when we decide to break the walls and doctrines of division, when we choose to judge ourselves and not allow the world to judge us, when we are prepared to take up the challenge to build God’s Kingdom only and not to build churches and invest in the ministries of men but in each other, perhaps the power of God in its ful-ness will surge through the veins of the body again and heal it.

Luke 4:18 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
18
“The Spirit of Adonai is upon me;
therefore he has anointed me
to announce Good News to the poor;
he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the imprisoned and renewed sight for the blind,
to release those who have been crushed….
